Extended Care

The elementary Extended Care program is open to all YCS students. Rates depend on family usage and several tiered programs are available to accomodate your schedule. Extended Day Care is open from 6:30am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday, with some exceptions for holidays and elementary minimum days.

The Extended Care program is run by Director Kathy Estopinal, along with staff Marian Barrera, Ruth Bristol, and Amber DelPilar. YCS uses a separate building on the upper campus for Extended Care, adjoining a large play field that is fenced and gated.

K-6th Grade Mornings (6:30-8:00am) and Afternoons (3:00-6:00pm)
Students in Extended Care prior to the start of the school day are engaged in board games, crafts, movies, devotions, prayer time, group games (silent bean bag, heads up/seven up, four corners), playdough, and worship.

Kindergarten Extended Care: Because kindergarten is a half-day academic program, Extended Care for kindergarten students has some special daily activities, including crafts, playdough, devotions, prayer time, worship, and games (inside and outside as weather permits). Staff members review concepts and teachings from the classroom, and reinforce student learning through games, music, crafts, and extra curriculum.

• 8:00-11:0am
  Kindergarteners in morning Extended Care spend their time in room 102 of the elementary school.
• Noon-3:00pm
  Kindergarten students are in the Extended Care house. Staff members get them ready to take a nap, and read Scripture and pray with them. Kids rest from 12:30-1:30pm.

Snacks are provided in the afternoon and students are given free time outside on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays until 4:00pm. Homework Room is operated from 4:00-4:45 depending on the age of the child. Staff members help students do their homework in a quiet atmosphere. Wednesdays and Fridays, students have free time. Wednesday afternoons are also movie day.

We stress to the students Luke 6:31 - Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Other rules are in line with regular school rules and policies.
